Howe Elementary School Principal

Principal (called head teacher in the earliest years) of the elementary school in the Old Howe School building after the high school moved out in 1916. The town bought and renovated the building in 1920, and it reopened for upper elementary grades, first as an annex of the Pollard School and by 1923 as a separate school. It was listed as the Howe School, Old Howe School, or Howe Elementary School, usually for grades 4 through 6, and often shared a principal with the Pollard School. Classes ended about 1965, when the Kennedy School opened and the Superintendent's office moved into the Old Howe building. From about 1963 to 1968 a separate Howe Junior High Elementary Section (grades 5 and 6) ran in the Howe Junior High building; its principals are included here.
